I have a 1994 60 Johnson. It has run flawlessly until late last summer. It started fouling the bottom cyl plug. At the end it ran great. When I started it this summer, same thing. The cylinder has spark. I though I had left fuel in the carbs so I ran seafoam through it while on ears from the hose and it seemed to fire and run good. I took it to the river and, again, bottom cylinder not running (but does get spark). Check the plug and it is wet. I noticed also that fuel leaks out of my primer solenoid. I took it apart and it appears good. Clean and no gasket tears. The solenoid clicks when power is applied. the boat runs on the top two cylinders and seems okay other than losing the power on the lower cylinder. Is the solenoid body leaking a little normal? I never noticed, but since the boat ran fine, I never really looked. Any thoughts that might help out?

Just a thought, does the pulse line for your fuel pump come off of the bottom cylinder? Maybe you have a defective diaphram in the fuel pump flooding the bottom cylinder.
Have you checked the bottom carb to see if it is flooding, causing the cylinder to foul?

I have not pulled the carbs yet. Hoping for a simple solution. That was next and I guess I know what I am doing Saturday. A related question. Am I doing any damage running with two cylinders alone? I am concerned that the bottom cylinder is not getting adequate lubrication, even if it isn't firing.

If the plug is gas fouled, it is getting lube, but I would find your problem before I ran it to much.
