1994 88 Spl Surging Throut Higher Rpm Please Help

my 88spl is surging at wot and all over the rpm range but it idles and runs fine it does not die just acts like it i ran my 9.9 on same fuel tanks and fuel hose ant pumped the ball while partner drove the boat no change in performance so i dont think its fuel related but who knows maybe some of you gear heads can give me some suggestions

check for air leak on fuel lines, also make sure the vent is clear on the fuel tank. also check your compression and spark. take and induction timing light with you .

ok i have checked fuel tanks and line seem ok i tried same tanks and fuel line on my 9.9 rude and it ran fine not even a miss
