1994 Evinrude 120 V4 RPM?

Well, after a lean condition rendered my 1995 Johnson 130hp a giant hulk of a space wasting parts motor, I bought a rebuilt Evinrude 120. It is almost identical. That is except for the RPM's at WOT. With the 130 I was running around 5,000 rpm and I am lucky to get 4,100 rpm out of my new motor. Is there something I should know or is there an adjustment that I am missing?
Thanks

Are you running the same prop from the 130hp if not that could be the problem.

Several thing could cause this:

1) linkage not allowing full WOT
2) timing retarded
3) improper jetting
4) older model (small bore) powerhead

More input on each motor would be a good start.
