I just found out that I got spark on my plugs now and I tried a little squirt of carb cleaner down its throat but still wont fire up. Any suggestions where I can start troubleshooting this thing?

if I can assume you are just starting to work on this motor (new to you etc) you really need to fully disassemble and clean the carb. If you really just need to hear it fire, carb cleaner likely wont do it -not flammable enough.

Squirt some premix gas (dont use starter fluid) into the carb and unless it is completely gummed to heck, you should get it to fire. This assumes you have compression. I got a similar engine to fire with less than 40lbs compression though, so just because it fires doesnt mean everything is up to snuff.

This things been setting a few years. I rebuilt the carb even though the engine has hardly been used. I'll give it a shot, thanks.
