Hello Everyone,

I just purchased a used boat with a 1994 Force 70HP. The motor is like new but compression readings are low-81,78,76. It's never been decarboned. Will a good cleanout with some Seafoam/powertune bring these values up or do I have major issues? The engine starts and idles fine. Any advice would be appreciated.

Howdy, Headponder.

Welcome to iboats. :)

When the cylinders all measure that close it usually is a result of the guage and technique, not an engine problem.

You can do no harm by decarbing it and retesting.

Good luck. :)

Decarb away.
Then recheck with all 3 plugs out, kill switch to "stop", and throttle set to wide open.

Post results.

Good Luck.
