I just purchased a 94 fling that had the engine all apart! That's not a problem! I installed the powerhead from a 115hp outboard that I have but when I crank it over something is binding! The engine ran just fine before installing in this boat so I'm thinking that something might not be lined up right with the jet drive or something is wrong with the jet drive.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I have the exact same boat. The yellow cap under the powerhead is the the gear oil. The recommended lube from the repair manual is OMC Ultra-HPF gearcase oil. The gear housing should hold 84.6 fl. oz of gear lube. To change it there is a drain plug forward of the intake grille on the bottom of the boat. It is recommended to change it after 30 hours of operation.

Mine has an oil reservoir or the VRO2. The recommended oil is Johnson TC-W3 Outboard lubricant. It mixes with the fuel at the appropriate ratio. The oil reservoir is located next to the battery. The mixer reservoir or pump is on the starboard side of the motor it is approximately 4 inches in diameter and about 8 inches deep with 2 hoses leading from it . One from the gas tank the other from the oil reservoir.

Hope this helps.
