I just picked up a 1994 120 hp V4 Model TLER and I started messing with it today and I noticed the VRO pump has already been by passed but fuel is leaking from the diaphragm and the fitting where the main fuel is supplied to the pump is broke. I am looking for the correct part number for a non VRO pump. I have done some internet searching and I believe the pump I need is part# 438559 but I am also seeing conflicting information on ebay that I could use a 18-7353 but I also see other information that pump only supersedes 438555 and 43386. Can anyone tell me the correct pump to use. I know I need the pump with 3 barbs but want to make sure I get a big enough pump to carry the fuel supply for 4 carbs. I have already done this on my other 65 hp johnson and it worked like a charm.

Here is the ebay link that shows I could use the 18-7353

Any help will;l be greatly appreciated.

I temporarily by passed the fuel pump and just used the bulb to keep gas in the carbs. It will start but not stay running. It has been sitting for 2 years and I plan on doing the following. Compression 120 psi on all 4 cylinders
Water Pump
New Plugs Ql77jc4
Rebuild all 4 carbs
Fuel Pump
All new fuel lines
Can you think of anything else I am forgetting?

The way that I see it is that the 18-7353 and 438555 were used on smaller engines, 30-40 horse power range, and would not deliver enough fuel. You were probably correct in using the 438559, as it was used on bigger engines and would probably deliver enough fuel for your engine to run properly.
