So here is the issue:

The throttle puts the OB into drive/neutral/reverse perfectly. Once in gear the first 1/2" to 1" or so(rough estimate) of throttle does exactly what you would expect. Then there is a large "dead space" for a few inches and the last inch to 1 1/2" of throttle has ALL of the rest of the power. It works fine, but it makes this last inch or so of throttle very touchy. It makes pulling wake boarders and skiers a bit of an art form. I can do it no problem but other people driving my boat for the first time have more of an issue with it.

Is there an easy way to adjust the throttle on the controls to fix this?

Those controls move the shift cable first, followed by the throttle cable. So remove your cowling and look at the shift linkage. Now move the control handle forward (motor off), until the throttle cable starts to move. If the throttle cable starts to open the carbs right away, you are likely adjusted properly. If there is a lot of control handle movement, before carbs start to open, an adjustment may fix. Get a OMC Service manual and have at it.
