Need information on cleaning and tuning carbs specs on a 1994 Johnson 150 please. I think it may be a clogged high jet or stuck float in one or more of my carbs because it idles and runs fine out of the water. But once I put it in the water and throttle up with a load on it, it bogs down and dies.

Idle mixture settings will cause a motor to idle fine on a flusher and idle lousy in the water.

Are you having just idle issues, or high speed issues as well?

You will want to get a service manual for that motor, as carb repair issues are more complex that this forum is designed for, IMHO

It bogs down and stalls when I put it in gear and punch it in the water. After I rev it a few times it will eventually take off so I'm thinking I'm not getting enough fuel through the high jets (clogged or not set correct). I ran a mix of 1 can Sea Foam/1 Gallon 50:1 Gas through it to try to flush out what I can without taking anything apart. Gonna try adjusting the set screws but wanted to see what factory settings are first. Figure that is the best place to start. If that don't work I'm gonna start taking off carbs and cleaning and checking floats/plungers.

Ebay and/or do a online search for a reprint. Don't know if iBoats sells reprints but ya might as well do a quick search while your here.

The idle mixture screw specs for my '98 150HP V6, 60* motor are either 4 turns open or 5 turns open, depending on what exact model you have. High speed jets are not adjustable, on all models.

Floats need to be set level with carb body, carb inverted.

You will need an exact service manual to get the info you need. I do not know of an online manual that is free, unfortunately.

Can you give us your exact model number including suffix. Different models either had adjustable low speed needles or not. Do you know if your engine has adjustable low speed needles?
