Hello,
I have a 1994 Lund Fisherman 1800 that I bought used two years ago. The boat always seemed heavy in the water and I think I just found out why. I removed the center floor board to replace the fuel sending unit and heard water sloshing around in both of the adjacent chambers of the hull. I took the seat mounts off and saw that both of the chambers were full of water in the ~1? gap between the foam and sides. I looked all around for a drain hole or plug but these outboard chambers seem to be sealed on all sides (but not the top). Why isn?t there a drain? The side chambers will always be susceptible to water.
Can I drill a hole into the chambers and drain into the center chamber where the sump pump is?
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.
Vin
