I have an annoying fuel sending problem with the long and shallow tank.
It would be nice to know how much fuel I have left sinc it costs $4 per gallon nowadays.
I keep reading that i am not alone on this topic.
I want to replace the fuel sending unit but I pulled it and it works fine. It adjusts whne raised and lowered. The problem I see is the fuel guage nvere shows above 3/4 full.
Is this an electrical issue? Dose the snding unit not have enough rnage to show full?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Look at the end of the arm where the float is. Sometimes the float is adjustable so it can be moved closer to the sender or farther away from it. You adjust it by moving the clips that hold it in position. If its not adjustable, you may want to try bending the arm. I have a similar boat with a similar problem and installed a Navman 2100 fuel flow meter. Navman is now Northstar. It works like the fuel computer in your car so you know how much fuel you've burned, how much is left, total for the trip, total since last reset, and more importantly, gallons per hour which helps you find the most economical cruise speed. They are anywhere from $100 - $150 depending on where you shop.
