1994 merc 454 timing procedure?

I cant find my book and need to check my timing today since i removed the intake. What is the procedure for a 1994 merc 7.4 454 tunderbolt IV ignition i know on my 98 5.7 i had to jump the purple wire or something for base timing but it looks diff on this one?
