Hi to all,
I've got a '94 200 hp Merc I'm having a problem with. After putting the shifter into forward there is what I believe to be the normal noise of going from neutral to forward or reverse, a slight grinding noise. But while increasing speed going forward the lower unit makes a clunking noise occasionally, almost like something is slipping or skipping. Once I have the boat running over say 4000-4500 rpm the noise seems to be gone. I had a mechanic work on the lower unit at the end of last season and he replaced a few parts and said he adjusted the shifter. I'm not exactly sure what parts he replaced but I don't believe any major parts were changed. Any help or ideas are appreciated.
