1994 mercury help

Hi I have a 1994 90hp motor I’m trying to get to start and my first questions is this line going to the lower unit is broke I was hoping someone could help

Howdy.

That is for the speedometer. Get a new coupler at a hardware store.

It isn't needed to start the motor.
