This is the one I already blew The ride plate out of position. Since it was already blown I didn't see the harm in gettiing the engine to run( the original problem) on the trailer. When I try to spin the engine over, it is very reluctant to spin and is not in spec. I had the battery load tested and it tested fine. I cleaned all battery terminals and after trying to get it to "slow spin start" for a few minutes. terminals seemed too warm and the started itself seemed too warm, at least at the bottom. I will try to clean the starter terminal but while I was barely turning it over, I got it to backfire explode like it did when it blew off the ride plate. it has been a month since the ride plate blew off and I find it hard to believe there could have been much fuel "pooled" on the bottom after all that time, and since it never spin up very well I can't believe the pump moved much fuel and I didn't squeeze the bulb that's not supposed to be there. So my question is this, is there something about slowly or barley turning the engine that might cause it to backfire or do I have a more serious problem than the weak starter. Thanks for your thoughts.
