1995 150 hp Ocean runner rough to start

Lately my 150 ocean runner wont syart until I squirt some premix into the carbs.Then it starts right up and runs fine until it sits for 3 hours or longer.Primer bulb pumps up fine.What gives the carbs the first prime of fuel on starting?? Charlie

That motor should have an electric primer on it. Usually there is a push to choke function on the ign key. Pump primer bulb hard, push key in, hold it in and crank until she starts.

a way to check to see if the electric primer is working is. start up the motor get it warmed up. in neutral increase idle to 2000rpm. press in key (activate the primer) rpms should drop to 1000rpm.
