My carbs seem to be leaking a small amount of fuel. The bowls have small ball bearings on the sides of them and the recess where the ball rests seem to always be wet with fuel.

Inside the cowling at the bottom there is always a fuel/oil residue. If I hose it out the water always has some floating oil residue.

Is this a vent? Will a re-build kit remedy the situation?

Many thanks,

Richard

Re: 1995 150 Looper -Carbs leaking fuel?

Rich
I have a 1995 175hp oceanpro. Same issue.
The "bb's" are a common leak point. Some have suggested using a wee bit of epoxy to seal them.
Make sure the vent hoses are connected to the air box (nipple on the bottom and hole on the top). I live with a thimble-full of fuel mix in the pan and wipe the area down about once every two weeks without any problems. Maybe neext carb rebuild I'll try the epoxy.
Good luck
