1995 150 Prop shaft play

ONe of my 1995 Johnson 150's has slome play in the prop shaft. By that I mean if I pull on the prop it will move about 1/8 of an inch. The other has very little play. Motor has around 600 hours.

Is there an acceptable amount of play or am I looking at a lower unit rebuild soon?

Did you check to insure that the castle nut is run up enough to seat the prop barrel against the thrust washer?Will the propshaft thrust 1/8" with the prop removed?

Yea it's tight. The whole assembly moves. Looking at it again I'd say maybe a heavy 1/16" of an inch.

I wouldn't worry about it.Sounds normal to me.
