We have a 1995 190 Horizon with the 5.0 Cobra engine (302). I am a previous outboard engine owner, so this I/O is a whole new world to me. I have looked at schematics trying to find an impeller for the water pump (like my outboards had), but cannot quite locate one. Is there one at all? How does the engine cool itself through the outdrive. It seems that my I/O is running warmer than normal, although it's difficult to tell by the gauge as it isn't as detailed as others I've seen. The gauge is spaced nicely up to 150, but then makes an evenly spaced jump to 200. I figured I'd start with the easy stuff and go from there, but I can't find the easy stuff! Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 1995 190 Horizon water pump question

Your question isn't specific to Four Winns; it's specific to OMC drives. I suggest you ask a moderator to move your question to the OMC forum or repost your question there.

You may find your answer by reading the stickies at the top of the OMC forum here: http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=445

Re: 1995 190 Horizon water pump question

I also have this boat, 1995 Four Horizon 190 5.0 L Cobra.... If you have the same outdrive set up as i do, which is questionable because OMC produced a few different ones all called cobra.... my boat has a raw water pump that is belt driven off the crank. On my motor, it is located on the lower left side of the pulley system if you are looking at the motor. (Lower Starboard Side) Try looking here for pump, impeller would be inside.
