Issues with this outboard & this particular year? Are the Newer ones greatly improved? I assume this would be a 2 stroke? Is the oil system reliable? - is there a way to add a additional warning system or alter the current system to be fail safe? Is this a great powerful running motor? I would have a compression test prior to purchasing - this outboard is on a 1995 24 ft Excel (Wellcraft) & seems like this motor should provide plenty of power for this boat. Would fuel usage be about 5 MPG?

Kind Regards for all who Answer my many questions

got a 93 200 on a 20" hydra sport mpg depend on a lot of factors.these motors love gas but are bullet proof. simple technology like the older ones proir to ficht injection i think u'll be happy if it checks out my comp #'s are in the high 80's and low90's and it runs great the two bottom cylnders are going to read 5psi lower than top two always with these big v6's good luck

These loopers run like a scalded dog but the do like the fuel. Keep in mind if you get a good deal and save 5-8k over a newer model that $5- 8000 buys a lot of gas :)

Re: 1995 200 HP Johnson Ocean Runner - Any

what is the recommended WOT of a Johnson ocean runner 200? I'm looking at another prop fot it and I think I can get another 400 rmp out of it. I run at 5200 WOT now with a 15X17 AL prop. I'm not looking for big speeds I just thought I'm Not running to its full ability's. Also is 25-30 sec ok to come up on plane for this comb? 24' Wellcraft Excell with the Johnson 200 and the prop above? it probably is fine just asking. thx
