25 hp johnson, Mod. J25KLEDC Serial. G04076502. motor had a failing spark issue which finaly turned into a no spark issue. replaced timing base (whichis a optical type) and control module, still no spark. getting readings from timing base but ignition module is not firing a signal to the coils. checked stator and am getting decent readings from it but dont have specific values for it so going off a 6 cylinder spec sheet. i unpluged the kill circut, no result, unpluged the leads to the voltage reg, to result.
im thinkin stator at this point but could use some input on this so i dont waste time and $$. thank you.

Unfortunately, that model year has horribly expensive ignition parts.
Is this a new to you motor?
Have you tried the CDI troubleshooting guide?
Btw, that's a 1996 according to the model number posted.

ok, replaced the stator so now it has a new stator, timing base, and ign pack. still no spark. followed the cdi trouble shoot guide and everything checks out but no voltage pulse to the coils. changing the ignition switch tomorow and tracking the black and yellow kill wire.
also this is a 3 cylinder which isnt mentioned in cdi's trouble shooting manual, it just refers to 4 and 6 cylinders with optical sensors.

ignition switch is good, cant find any breaks, shorts or grounds on the kill circut or ignition circut. would appreciate some input on this. and again the manuals dont mention a 3 cylinder model. ??
