I strongly suspect that I need new main bearings by the sound that's coming from the motor. Does anyone know if the webs on the crankshaft are splined so that they don't need to be timed but just pressed apart and then back together? Then end bearings aren't too big an issue but the 2 bearings in the centre area of the crankshaft could be a problem to replace if that became necessary.
Thanks.

What I understand a special jig is needed to take apart and put back together.
I sent My 1999 C40 crank off to a shop in NC to be rebuilt a few years ago all new bearings and seals.

also make sure you test the crankcase re-circulation check valves.
I found several bad on mine
