Okey so heres my situation. I have a 1995 v4 90 hp evinrude outboard m#e90sleoc The engine runs great but it is leaking raw fuel out of the bottom of two carbs on the the float chamber assembly. it is not coming from any gaskets, it appears to be coming from a small hole on the side of the float assembly that i am not sure what it's purpose is.I think it my have something to do with the high speed orifice. As i said in the beginning the engine runs great, but is causing a potential fire hazard with the raw fuel. Any info on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

that hole is used in the production some how and then plugged, it has not functional purpose. you need to fix it, you can either buy new fuel bowls or fill the hole with some type of fuel resistant epoxy like JB weld. make sure you clean it good with a degrease before epoxy.

Clean the area up good and use some gray marine-tex on it. Make sure everything is clean and dry before applying.

Check your float bowls. Possible that engine has plastic float bowls on it. If so, they tend to warp with age and leak fuel at the mating surface with the upper carb body. OMC never quite got into a recall campaign on these bowls. You may just opt to replace them. All factory replacements are now the older solid aluminum type.

If you are talking about the small hole on the stb side of the bottom of the float bowl, that is a passageway for the idle fuel from the main jet well. Sometimes the solvents and alcohol in today's fuel degrade the sealer that is around the BB pressed into the passageway to seal it. Cleaning it out and using a quality gasoline proof epoxy may work, but the factory recommends replacing the float bowl. Better quality sealers are now used.
