Long story short, my tilt and trim solenoid went bad and I tried to loosen the manual release screw. It was completely stripped by the previous owner. So I had to loosen the hydraulic lines off to move the boat. (It was trimmed down and I was moving)
Now my perdicament. (I know I know this is all in the manual but money's tight or I'm just uptight with money. Lol one year old and another on the way.) I took the lines off to move the boat and obviously completely lost my fluid and introduced lots of air into the system. I searched the bleed procedure and gathered that you need to use the manual valve to bleed the system. I decided okay that's fine I'll just remove the whole assembly, tig weld a nut to the screw and ta-da. I quickly realized it's not coming out with the motor and resivior on so I removed those. No go. Do I have to completly remove the motor and one transom bracket to get the pump out? Or am I missing something?
Or am I completely out to lunch and you don't need the release screw to bleed this? I'd be fine in taking the motor off and dealing with it but fishing season is finally here. Haha.
Let me know you're thoughts.
Thanks a lot,
Paul
