my pump got mounting bracket rot saged down and banged the oil tank enough to allow some rain water to milk the oil.
removed and flushed out entire trim system off boat and no damage but i noticed in the tank that there seams to be the lefovers of two nylon strainers on the oil pickups pumps well but it looks like you would need a new pump intake to get the strainers as they look pressed on

any help or a part # would be great

thank you
tommays

If you haven't paid for the mounting bracket yet, you might look on EBAY. I replaced my rusted out bracket with a stainless one for about 1/2 the price of the Merc part.

Just a thought ....

Tom

thanks paid for the overpriced merc one but installed on 3/4 high plastic risers with longer ss lag bolts
i think that now that is not sitting in water but above the deck it should not rust again for a long time because it was only bad were it touched the deck

tommays
