Hi to all
Just picked this nice 1995 Bayliner Capri 20.5 with a 5.0 Litre Mer/Cruiser.
Just tested the other day trim worked fine up and down no problems
And today tested and its going down all the way but will only come up not even a quarter and then stops.
As this is my first boat ever I know nothing other than to work the controls.
Any basic things I should check???????????????????

Thanks for any advice
I do appreciate it
Cheers Steve

does the trailer button bring the drive up? If so, the trim limit switch is working as it should. If the trailer button doesn't work, clean all your connections and try again.

When coming up, from full down, the part that is working is called trim. The part that is not working is called tilt or trailer position.
Depending on which control you have, you either have a secondary button to over ride the trim limit switch or a 2 position up button on the throttle up button that you just push harder to activate.
Perhaps you forgot the over ride button??????

Hi
Thanks for your reply
This is where Im confused ( Is the trailer position switch the same as the trim up and down button on the
throttle )
As far as I can see there is only one set of up and down button on the top side of the throttle
It works down with the prop all the way but then when I press the up button it stops a quarter up ( dead )
Look forward to hearing from you
Thanks Guys

I have the same boat and year as yours. On the throttle itself, you only have a button for up and down. Pushing the trim button for trim up/out will only raise the drive a little bit. To raise it all the way up, you have to use the trailer position button. The trailer position button is on the bottom right of the throttle assembly. It doesn't look like a button. Just look closely and you see where to press the rubber. There is a switch under the rubber that you can't see.
