Hi to all and thanks for any input on this.
I have the option to buy a 1995 chris craft concept cuddy with a 5.7l volvo penta engine and dual prop outdrive. It has a cracked block and frost plug out however i got the engine to fire up and seems to run very smooth. The boat also has paint bubbling on the top half due to being left with shrink wrap covering it and improperly vented i think. The interior is dirty but mostly intact. The trailer is not designed for the boat- the owner bought a haul trailer for it which is what the marina's use to haul with. My question would be is what the bought is worth and is it worth fixing. The owner wants $2000for it. I am mechanically inclined and could do the work myself, just looking for some input on if this boat is worth the work.
Again Thanks for your replies.

That condition and the crappy trailer....you will spend several thousand to get it water ready.
How about the floor, stringers and transom? If they are rotted and a ton more money and work.

The engine block itself is a GM based engine. You can get a new long block from Rapid-O marine for around 1500 bucks.

I wouldn't touch is. Don't get wrapped up into thinking it's anything special because it's a CC. Unless it's mahogany, it's just another glass boat with a cracked block.

As far as i know it has a fiberglass floor and feels solid. I ran the engine yesterday and couldn't tell if the manifolds were leaking due to the volume of water coming out of the frost plug. Do you think i should try to get the frost plug in and see what else is leaking bofore i decied on if i should get a rebuild or complete engine? This boat is a friend's boat so he is letting me do all the tests before i buy.
Thanks

Sure if it is easy to get to. Get one of the rubber core plugs from the auto parts store throw it in and see how it looks. This will help you figure out if you need other parts like mentioned above. Hope for just a cracked block.
