Have a 95' E115TLEOR ouboard that will not run at higher RPMS unless primer bulb is hand pumped. I will be checking fuel lines and filters today, but my gut tells me the fuel pump is amiss. Does anyone know about these complex looking pumps? Also, if my suction tube is not right in the onboard fuel tank, could I loose prime?

Re: 1995 E115TLEOR Outboard Fuel Problems

The pump can only offset a limited amount of obstruction. Dirty filters or redundant filters, fuel lines too small for the engine, complex fuel line fittings, obstructed anti-siphon valves, dirty or corroded pickup screen in the tank, and blocked tank vents are all possibilities. Primer bulbs themselves are often part of the problem, especially if they are too small.

One way to check is to run on a portable tank, with a different fuel line and primer bulb, to see if the situation changes.
