I have to remove my 95 Evinrude 115 Hp from my boat for transom replacement. I need to detach all controls, wiring, cables, etc. from the motor. Can anyone run me through this? Electrical connection looks to be all in the large red connector. Shift cables and throttle cables look simple enough as well, but is it possible to remove them and reinstall them without having to totally readjust? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

unplug the big red plug, disconnect fuel/oil lines, disconnect shift/throttle cables, and yes you will have to readjust them when you install a new motor, if you reinstall same motor you will still want to check ajustment althought it should be pretty close.

whats the model number???

they made two totally different 115s in 1995

on the 60 degree looper like I have it is tight getting the battery cables fed through and connected along with the harness and the fuel line... WITH the lower cowl on!!!

much easier( but time consuming) with it off....

you will have some harness tails to unplug. as well as the two battery terminals, and the fuel line.

the big red plug is behind that plastic shield, one tail will be the VRO lead, one will be for the TNT button on the lower cowl as well as the feed for the throttle button.

its all tight with the cowl on

good luck
