im currently doing a synchronization/linkage adjustment and im confused on how to set the "expansion link". I've done the previous steps (not using flush device); timing pointer, cam pickup, throttle plate, etc. the manual states to turn the the arm stop screw clockwise until it reaches 950 rpm in forward detent (easy). then it states "turn the expansion link adjustment knob counterclockwise until timer base just begins to move". The diagram shows a screw underneath the flywheel on port side. My outboard does not have the screw. How am i suppose to set the expansion link? is the expansion link my idle screw because i notice when i turn the screw counterclockwise the rpm increase.
