1995 Evinrude 8 HP Yacht Twin

This engine has a circuit for charging a battery (stator). Does it need a regulator between the outboard and the battery being charged?

Shouldn't need one, amperage output on smaller motors with charging systems shouldn't be so much as to overcharge a battery under normal use.

If you do find your battery voltage going a bit to the high side, turn on the boat's running lites or other small electrical load and that'll keep voltage down to a normal level.
