I have looked at the new replacement remotes. I would buy one but I see I also need the adapter harness because my remote is a 1995 and the wiring harness is different. I may also be willing to buy the adapter harness but since I just purchased this boat and someone has already cut the red plug off the engine harness and butt connected it to the control harness I would also need the engine harness.
If I purchased the new 96 and up control can I cut the connector off it and solder it straight to the engine harness? And if so will the wires be the same colors or is there somewhere they list which color goes to the existing engine harness?
