1995 Evinrude water pump flow indicator

Hi all,I noticed that when I start my motor that the pee stream that shoots out the side of the motor takes about 10 seconds to flow,it will spit and sputter then become a full stream,is this normal? or is this a sign of a bad t-stat or water pump? The motor is a 1995 Evinrude 70hp.

What you're seeing is normal but if the waterpump and thermostat hasn't been replaced in the last 2-3 yrs., it's time, especially if it's been run in salt water.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
