1995 Force 70 - flywheel nut washer

Hey all I managed to put flywheel nut back on without the washer. As it is a pain to loosen again, do I really need to have this washer on there?

YES!!! Tightening the nut without the washer can do damage.
The engineers put it there for a reason.
