First and foremost hello, my name is Sgt Benjamin LaDuca ( United States Army ).

I am picking up my first boat saturday, a 1995 Glastron ssv 175. It is not a fishing boat, but it will be in a short time.

I will try to explain pictures as best as I can.

**Upcoming Projects**

-Removing all front bow seats and bumper pads.
-Fiberglassing/Wood a one piece fixtured proper placement open bow flat deck to hold trolling motor w/foot pedal, livewell, storage compartment and fishing butt chair.
-Replacing depth finder with Hummingbird FishFinder 5' screen, Color.
-Replacing dual double seats w/fishing seats, keeping back folddown (2).
-All Teal color that you see as well as the cackie color is being replaced with black colors.

All beggining pictures our mine, last few are what I want the outcome to be.

Only advice I need is...when I run the trolling motor/foot pedal into a plub in the front bow, do I need to install a female end?

Now here is my question, do I have to install a special/seperate box for the trolling motor/foot pedal? Or will it come with the trolling motor kit when I buy it.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard Sarg,.... 'n Thank you for yer service to Our country....

Looks like a Cool project,....

My thoughts on yer plan are,....
Black get's Hot in the sun, 'n is usually an Uncomfortable color....

The other thing is,...
Puttin' a Pair of livewells in the bow, is gonna make planin' off, abit tough....
At 8lbs. per gallon, that's Alota weight, Along ways forward...

What's she got for Power,..??

I have a 1994 Glastron SSV 175 Ski N fish. Below are some pics of a factory fishing set up for your boat. Hope this helps. I have a wealth of info/experience on this particular boat, If you have any questions or would want any other pics let me know.

Hey bud, Welcome aboard. Lots of helpful folks on here to give you tips and advice along the way.

A couple of threads I would check out for reference and ideas:

1. Bear_69cuda's imperial thread.. Converting an Imperial ski boat to a fishing rig.
2. Sleeper-6 - run-about to fishing machine.

Both of these guys are good and detail-oriented and it would be good to "follow in their wake" and see how they have tackled similar issues on set-up, etc... The only difference is that you have an i/o set-up, which is a great power plant, but will limit your aft layout to pretty much what you got... That's why a lot of fishing rigs are o/b set up because you can create casting/seating decks in the back without having to work around the power plant (engine dog-house), which leads me to my next comment:

You have an o/b set-up in one your "desired outcome" pics... I think you were just using that for the bow lay-out reference and not for the stern. If you are planning a conversion, let us know, because that sort of open's up a pandora's box of issues...

The power plant for the i/o will of course take up some room in the back of the boat. You may want to check out Jasoutside's Islander thread... He has a 4.3 (v6) i/o set-up and he is currently going through his layout/schematic for the stern to make it "fisher friendly."

Hope this helps.

Here is how Glastron handled the aft portion.

The back two side seats remove to go into the front and rear pedestals and a carpeted board folds down in their place to cover the storage/built-in coolers on both sides.
