Hi

I have a Johnson 90 V4 on the back of my rib that has developed a gremlin!!

It runs sweet as a nut and starts perfectly, however once I have run it for a while and switch it off it refuses to start again, to the point where the battery eventually goes flat.

Im assuming it’s a fuel issue as this first happened when I accidentally ran it out of fuel! (The gauge is broken) so I first thought a fuel blockage. I find it unlikely tho as this would mean both carbs are blocked and like I said it does start and run fine.

ive stripped the fuel lines down as much as I can and found no blockage. I’m now at a loss?

Can anyone suggest anything to try?

Thanks.

Load test the battery.----Pull starter apart for inspection.----Inspect battery cables.------No money spent to do this.

What's your hot start method? Mine usually needs a bit of throttle, no priming.

Another option is to check spark when it won't start - you could have heat-soak issues with the stator or power pack.
