Hello all,

New Iboats member and an even newer boat owner. I bought new to me 1995 Armada Marada with a Mercruiser 3.0LX Alpha one Gen 2 in showroom condition. My question is the last time I went out the alternator belt started squeaking when it was under a high load like triming, or the blower turning on. I found the alternator belt was really lose and was pretty warn and falling in the pulleys quite a bit. For now I was able to put a little more tension on the pulley to get the squeaking to stop but I would like to replace it. Can anyone help me out with finding a new one? There is no legible markings on the belt, the boat does not have power steering. I am having a hard time finding a belt for it, every belt that I find is marked for power steering equipped boats. Is there a good website to go to find part numbers and such? Any site that I have tried so far lists a general mercruiser 3.0 and they all have power steering.

Thank you!

And if you like, take the belt off and walk into the local NAPA or Autozone, have them measure it and pull a replacement off the wall.

My advice is get a gates brand belt. O'reilly's sells them and they seem to last much longer. More money but a much heavier belt. My old 3.0 would always eat value craft belts despite my best attempts to sand and touch up rust spots on the pulleys.
