I recently purchased my first boat and it has a 95 Merc 150. The original owner had bypassed the oil injection system and I pre-mix my fuel at 50:1. My question is this. The oil reservoir tank is still in the bilge with the batteries and gas tank and I?m needing space to mount an onboard battery charger. The hoses and all are still attached to the tank. Can I simply remove the hoses from the tank thereby enabling me to remove the reservoir from the bilge. Will it hurt to just leave the hoses loose in the bilge?
