1995 mercury force 70 hp spark on battery

1995 force 70 hp has a small spark on battrey when hook motor leads up only.
nothing else hooked up just motor leads should this do this. everything else works ok it is on a pontoon

I usually get a spark whenever I disconnect/reconnect to my battery terminals.

The CD unit has capacitors inside and is powered directly from the battery. After extended sitting, when you attach the battery leads, the capacitors which have discharged will recharge so yes, you will get a spark--normal
