Figured out my previous problem with the trigger coil and the wiring, turns out I was looking at the wiring diagram for the CDM ignition instead of the proper diagram.

Last issue to figure out is the stator and its wiring. It has 2 yellow wires and a white/green and a green/white. The switchbox has red and blue which when looking in the service manual, for section 2A, I find the red and blue wires should match up on the stator. Looking in section 2B (CDM Ignition) I see the White/Green and Green/White wires.... (wtf???)

Sooo.. what I am thinking is that someone tried to use the wrong stator with this motor? Also the two wires in question on the stator were cut short also, useable, but clearly were not hooked up to anything. I dont know if the boat ran in said configuration though.

Thoughts? Should I just buy a new stator for this thing? Also do i have to buy the special locking tool to remove the flywheel or will a big strapwrench from say sears be good enough to hold the flywheel while loosening the nut?

Info on the motor:
1995 Bayliner Reflexx w/ Sport Jet 90 sn OE100528.

Thanks!

Hey Rob!

I just got all my wiring done today. On my stator, there were the 2 yellows, and the whites like yours.

The one thing I found odd was the Tan w/ Green stripes (oil sensor & head temp. sensor) connect to the tan w/ blue stripe wires! That took me a while to figure out.

Another option for removing the flywheel nut is to find a friend with hands of steel! One to hold the hell out of it, the other to turn the wrench. You could also attempt wedging a 2x4 somewhere in there and let the flywheel teeth dig in to it (just be careful going that route).

I just rebuilt my entire engine. Needs some tuning now..... First test run out I was moving along nicely, just up on plane......... and it just stalled out on me. I started it right back up and it got up and moved like nothing happend.

I'm questioning the oil injection. Right now I have the oil injection hooked up, as well as a 50:1 oil/gas mixture in the tank (because of the new rebuild).

Good luck :)
Phil
