1995 sundowner with a 302

I am looking at buying a 1995 sundowner 195 with a volvo 302 fuel injected with is a ford. I went to the Four Winns website it said it has 215 hp at the prop but it doesnt say how many hp the engine is, I am guess around 230 does anyone know what it is. Do you think 215 hp at prop is good for this boat, it says 47 mph is top speed which fine for me.

The Four Winns archives are reasonably accurate. Just remember that their performance figures are for a new boat with clean hull, new drivetrain and light load. I'd deduct 10-15% from the top speed and fuel consumption figures to represent real-world performance in a 16 year old boat with a bunch of people, fuel and 'stuff' on board. That's assuming the mechanicals in yours are in good shape and well tuned.

Only you can decide if 40+ mph will make you happy.
