My father and I recently purchased our first boat, 18' fiberglass Vhull with a 95 Suzuki DT115 2 stroke outboard. The motor ran great for the first few trips. While on the bay at about 3/4 throttle the motor died suddenly and without warning as if it seized. The starter would engage but not crank over. I had the boat towed back and I took it out of the water. the next morning it started right up without any hesitation. Over the next few days the problem has been the same, the starter always engages and when it cranks over starts immediately and runs great sometimes for 30 minutes and sometimes for 2 minutes but it always stalls out. The problem is not isolated to the temperature of the motor or fuel so I am thinking electrical problems but I am lost in that department. Can someone help guide me in the right direction? Thank you in advance.
