I just installed a 1996 Johnson 115 J115SLEDR (looper) to replace my 1982 crossflow. I used adapter harness 176349 so I could use my old controls and it was a simple plug N play until I got to the tilt trim. It will TnT locally at the engine but not through the controls.
From the controls the wires are green (down) blue (up) and the white wire were being used with the old setup. From the engine there is blue, green, red, white & black.
I temp hooked up green, blue and tried the (apparent hot) white wire from controls to the red then white on engine and neither worked. I was thinking that should have done the trick but no go. Where do I go from here?
When I TnT locally (at the engine) the black wire has 12.5vdc going up and the white wire has 12.5vdc going down with the corresponding blue / green reading about .099 vdc in their respective directions. From the controls no voltage from the white wire and the corresponding blue / green reading about .099 vdc in their respective directions.
