1996 174 SEI performace question

Hi every one I am new to this board. <br /><br />This is my second season for my 1996 174 SEI <br />(Name: Soak 'N Fused)with a 4.3L Mercruiser Alpha 1 drive. <br /><br />I currently can squeeze 44 MPH (GPS)I am wondering how I can get a few more MPH out of it, it currently turns 4800 at WOT. I would really like to be able to put it over the 50 mark, but do not want to spend thousands of dollars. <br /><br />Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard Bigduffydog.<br />Sounds like maybe you need to work on the prop end of your engine.<br />Let's get this over to the prop questions and topic forum.<br />Again, welcome aboard.
