Hi,

I have a 1996 Maxum 1750SR with a 3.0. I have owned the boat since last year when I bought it from the original owner.

I have never had a problem out of it, has always run great. Got it out of storage(i had the deluxe 400$ winterization package done) Took it out one other time this year and it was fine. Today after a pretty good run 25mph for about 10 minutes or so, it began to cut out when I go from idle to WOT. The engine does not rev over idle speed. I idled it back to the ramp. Runs fine on the throttle only, only does this when in gear under load. oil psi is good, temp is normal. "Goosed" it a few times in the no wake zone but couldn't get it up to speed obvioulsly and seemed to be better, but I cannot confirm??? I hate intermittant issues! Where should I look? Thanks, Nathan

I had the same issue a few years back on 3.0lx and it turned out to be a blown head gasket do a compression check. Ran fine first time out and 2nd time it just wouldn't run to get out of it's own way! try stickies section @ the top of the forum for some other good info.

Will try to check compression tomorrow. Would a blown hg be an intermittant thing, or would it be consistent?

Im kind of new to boats, but it seems more like a fuel related issue.

After reading about the shift interupter switch that sounds like what its doing. I remember I may have put a bumper up under the gunwhale on the throttle side. When I put it in reverse it was fine. Maybe the throttle cable got stuck.

No,A head gasket will be consistent..
Start with the easy stuff like fuel filter replacement and a compression test.
