I was running near cruise this weekend for about 30mins. Saw a sea turtle and cut the throttle which caused the engine to die followed by a dieseling fit for roughly 30 seconds. I tried to start the engine and noticed the ignition fuse was blown. Replaced fuse and turned ignition to run for about 3 seconds and the fuse blew again. Replaced fuse. Tried to crank. The engine turned over but no fire. Now I am getting no spark and still blowing fuses while ignition switch is in the run position.

I should mention that I took on quite a bit of water in the bilge while running earlier in the day. I pumped it and ran fine for several hours. Please offer any help as I'm not sure where to start on this one.

Thanks in advance
-Steven

It sounds like you have a short now...

Maybe some water got into your ignition when it died or sometime before. Maybe it will be ok after it dries.

I going to guess that you run salt water, you did mention that you had a fair amount of water in bilge, Is there a chance that the starter got wet with sea water, or any other electrical components or wiring, It doesn't take salt water to long to get the corriosion going, I would look into the starter solenoid and such, I know you mentioned you had no spark but that could be a result of a bad trigger wire at the starter end.
