So i'm pretty stumped with a project motor I picked up. Went from no spark and major fuel issues (wrong pump was installed) air leaks in fuel lines, carbueretor's gummed bad and mis adjusted. To able to run on the water but not at full power. If I bring it to idle it cuts out after about 30 seconds... However it will idle for longer the first time I start it up before cutting out (about 5 minutes.) Im confident everything from the Tank (vent isn't closed) to the carbueretors is as it should be. I'm beginning to think it's beyond the carbueretor (reed valve) or maybe an air leak in the crank case. My next move Is going to be a vaccum test and gear case pressure test.
Tank is good, primer bulb good, fuel filter replaced, pump replaced, carbs ultrasonic cleaned.
Just reaching out to see if anyone may have an idea, or ran into a similar situation.
