Hi guys, me again, Downloaded the manual Merc manual 18 and it says to apply a light coating of quick seal to intake gasket, is this old information or is it still current,I have a quick silver intake gasket, its aluminum and has green silicon sealing gasket built in.making me think that quick seal was an old procedure.I have a can of quick seal if needed. I am planning on installing this weekend, just waiting on a torque angle gauge to come in the mail to finish torquing of the head bolts

Ayuh,... I donno's that perfect seal is needed on the new style gaskets, I don't...maybe to hold it "In-place"...

I still throw away the rubber ends strips,. 'n run a big fat bead of silicone across both ends,...
let it set up to the touch, 'n then assemble as normal...
It'll oose abit, 'n seal things up nicely...

Thanks Bond-o. I meant to say quick seal. I also think it was for older style gaskets. So I will put it together, and see what happens, also gasket kit didn't come with any rubber strip's, it just says to silicone front and back I was going to use gray silicone for making intake gaskets from permatex.
