1996 4.3 LX Gen + carb question... "leave it alone or time to rebuild/clean it?"
I have a 1996 Sylvan V196 wth a 4.3LX Gen+ motor. It has 220 hours on it and it runs fine (when it starts!) What I mean is that after I replaced the plugs, fuel/water seperator, (did not replace wires or cap/rotor) it takes about 4 or 5 times to "pump" the throttle/choke and let the throttle sit at half or 3/4 way to get it to idle before returning it to neutral. Should I leave it alone and hit it with carb cleaner or just pull it and clean it? There is no visible sign of build up in it (sprayed it with carb cleaner to clean out the marine fogging oil.) I just think it should start faster. This is coming from a fuel-injected guy!
