My neighbour has just got his boat back from the marina rebuild shop and it ran fine for about 5 hrs. Now when he tries to open the throttle it boggs down and barely runs. it will run slow in forward and low speed. sqeezing the primer bulb is impossible because it goes rock hard and impossible to sqeeze. shut the motor down and the bulb can be squeezed. the motor was bored out and all lines were supposedly changed because someone filled his oil tank with sugar. the marina said all lines were changed and system flushed. Could this be a fuel starvation problem caused by a faulty fuel pump or gas filter, or plugged jets? thanks for the help

Its possible that there is still some trash(sugar granules) in the fuel system causing restrictions through carb orifices or porting.Have your friend try rapidly pushing the primer button on his ignition switch and see if the engine picks up.If so, the fuel filter is clogged or the carbs are restricted and will need to be removed and cleaned.

His carburator is mostlikely clogged with something that was in the fuel. Pull it off, clean it out, and you should be good to go.

Thanks guys. Forgot to mention that we done a compression test and both cylinders recorded 136 lbs.
